Goal
The Psychiatric University Hospital in Zurich is one of Switzerland’s leading centers for mental health treatment and research. Therapists at PUK needed a more effective way to track how patients respond to prescribed digital health programs and wellness surveys. The hospital’s existing tools were fragmented, making it difficult for therapists to see progress at a glance, while patients lacked motivation to engage consistently. To solve this, we redesigned the app ecosystem for therapists, admins, and patients—improving usability, efficiency, and long-term scalability. The new design ensures therapists gain meaningful insights, patients stay engaged, and internal teams can manage the system with ease.

Track Progress and Treatment Efficacy
Therapists access a centralized dashboard that shows how each patient is engaging with their treatment plan. It highlights progress, missed check-ins, and areas of concern, helping clinicians quickly identify where intervention is needed. The dashboard also enables therapists to track the effectiveness of different treatment plans, providing insights that support continuous improvement and help hospitals deliver better, more personalized mental health care.
Manage Patients and Therapists Efficiently
Admins have access to intuitive, easy-to-use tools for managing patient and therapists. The platform makes it simple to coordinate teams and track patient engagement. By streamlining these administrative tasks, the system helps hospital administrators ensure that research studies run smoothly, participants are properly assigned, and staff can focus on delivering care and supporting study outcomes efficiently.
Encourage Consistent Patient Participation
The system sends smart notifications that remind patients to complete surveys and use prescribed mental health apps on schedule. By encouraging regular engagement, these nudges help maintain consistent data collection and support adherence to personalized care plans, ensuring that both patients and clinicians have the insights needed to track progress effectively.

A dedicated mobile app lets patients complete wellness surveys and access important emergency contacts. Its simple, supportive interface makes participation easy, helping patients stay connected and empowered between therapy sessions. By reinforcing engagement, the app strengthens the critical link between care staff and patients, supporting more consistent communication and better overall mental health outcomes.
